I have retired,
Having reached age sixty-eight,
Time now, to run trains.
Floor layouts are gone,
Carpet central departed,
D C S gone too.
New layout coming,
Soon to be up in the air,
Conventional run.
And Lion Chief Plus,
Will soon be run on my roads,
Pulling major loads.
A new Blue Comet,
Will be taken from the box,
And run O 5 4.
Twelve trains in total,
Running on their own power,
Two levels of track.
Steamers and Diesels,
Passenger and freight all mixed,
Lots of sound and smoke.
There are many trains,
Too many to all be run,
It’s part of the fun.
Scenery not in plan,
Bridges and trestles of course,
Lots of trains and track.
Three transport trains,
All equipped with open cars,
Trucks and autos too.
All one-forty-threes,
Carrying my collection,
Happy will I be.
