Wednesday has returned, and with it comes the next edition of Midweek Photos.  This topic has been going on OGR for as long as I have been following, and then some.  When I added OGR to my regular websites to follow, this is what I would first check out at work after my weekend (at the time, Monday and Tuesday).  I hope you can add a few railroading photos to keep this thread active into the future.

I decided to go to New York last week, and the best way to get there, IMO, is by train.  I showed up late for one commuter train to the city, so I had about 40 minutes to kill before the next one.  Dover, NJ is the western end of NJ Transit electric operations, so that is where I normally board.

The station is a decent size, but the railroad only uses a small part of it.  Sometimes there is a restaurant in the rest of the building, but it is closed for now.

Here is my train.  an ALP 46, which came on line early in this Century.

I  didn't take any train pics while in the city.  I walked the High Line, which is an elevated railroad route that the New York Central once used to service factories and warehouses downtown.  It is now a nature trail.  No photos here, either.

Please feel free to add some of your photos of real-world trains here.  See you next week, and have a great time rail-fanning.

i rode that Dover line from  Morris Plains to Hoboken and back 5 days weekly during the 1970s. We still had some of the 1918-22 electrics with rattan seats in those days. Still had smoking cars that you often avoided if possible even if you smoked-  many cigars too on the evening trip.  Packed away somewhere I have a 4 car set modeling the old electrics of the train.
