Giraffes and barrels are on the siding as New York Central milk trans dominate the main lines....
The engines are Lionel and MTH.
The cars (milk and passenger) are Lionel, MTH, K Line and Weaver.

Lionels scale milk cars are definitely one of their better efforts, my favorite next to the steel sided reefers.
Lets hope Dave Olsons hint of"vision line offering" to go with the new niagara is a milk car with sounds.
Which Lionel milk car paint scheme is closest to a prototype car? John in Lansing, ILL
Gotta love that. Milk, it does a railroad good.
I have an uncle on both sides of the family that were milkmen. One in California and one in Missouri and drove trucks just Ike that. Cool.
Don't cry over spilled milk.

I'm more interested in the rail car sounds like those on the vl reefer. Ya know, flange squeal, brake squeal coupler slack, banging etc etc.

If you are interested in the REA and Milk Cars these booklets maybe something to find.
In the beginning of the REA (Railway Express Agency) booklet you will learn. That years before there was a "REA" there was in fact the "American Express Railway Co." And before I bought Lionel's car pictured below verified paint and lettering. So Lionel did a great job here.
The text goes on "Original lettering scheme as handed down from American Railway Express." "The body color was a deep green commonly called Pullman Green." "Lettering was gold and mayhave been (at various times) gold leaf, bronze (metallic) gold paint or imitation paint (buff)."
The only thing Lionel's cars scale about 43/44-feet long. Where in fact the interiors were that long with exteriors being 53/54-feet long.
Now the "Railway Milk Cars" booklet is one of four volumes which regrettably did pick up at time. But this one has pictures of various Borden milk cars and Borden milk tank cars.
Here is a link of my Lionel CCII Niagara pulling a wide variety of Lionel Milk cars at the NJ HiRailers yesterday. All I need is the METCA Milks cars that are on order to round the consist out.
BTW, the Niagara was upgraded with the new Lionel brass gears, new drive train, Cruise-M and super smoke by Alex. Ran for 6 hrs straight.
Here is the video.

Parts are made. Decorating about to begin. A few more months until they're in our hands.

In similar vain to the Vision reefers, I imagine there'll be a foreman scolding a worker "Don't spill the milk!"
And the worker replying "No use crying over it!"
But in all seriousness, I'm looking forward to these cars more than the Niagara itself.
I would say the VL milk cars might say "Eat more Chicken", but that would actually come from the cattle car. Hopefully when the new catalog is released(tomorrow expected to be online), we will get some excellent goodies. See what the deal out. Maybe they might have different lines for them.
A few more months??? Ugh
I’d be happy if the next in the series of road numbers for the NYC CC II milk reefers would finally arrive. It’s only been 2 years. I have all of the others in the series. They are beautiful cars

Me too, Mike!

Milk is king when one runs a milk unit train:
Special thanks to Banjoflyer for advising me on how to increase the volume of the chuffing, whistle and bell sounds of the LC+ Steamer, which mysteriously became weak earlier this evening.
