The new Lionel shipping sch. today (8/12) does not have the two pack shown anymore. Is that supposed to mean it shipped? Why would they ship the two pack before the four pack. Doesn't make any sense at all.

If the online shipping schedule had any sense of reliability to it these days, then we'd all be celebrating right now and awaiting arrival of these cars on brown trucks... since yes, shipped items are typically removed from the list. HOWEVER, this time, I think you've tripped over an error... although I'd wish Lionel would prove us wrong this time.
Given the fact that these cars have been delayed so many times now, I wouldn't be surprised if Lionel has yet to even finalize plans/terms with a factory to make them. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

i think it is an error on Lionel's part. The GP-9s that were recently delivered were never in the shipping schedule. Neither are the SD-40s that still have not arrived. Both were in the last catalog.

I think Rocky isdefinitely right about the sch. Many items on the first page of the sch. shows shipped Sept./Oct. 2013 & we are not even there yet. A few years back, Lionel's sch. used to be accurate, but not anymore.
To give another example of what has been happening to the shipping schedule in the past week, on Aug 8, the CAB1L was changed from Oct. to April 2014 which was posted here on the forum. Today, August 12th, it is listed to ship in November. As others have said, don't get too hopeful about the shipping schedule.
