A friend of mine had these videos of my old layout, I didn’t know he had them and it was beautiful to get the chance to see it again. It brought back a lot of great memories.

It was the type of layout that Trains would appear out of no where , and then disappear into long tunnels.

Alex, the last few years of your open house I was always out of town and never got to see your layout on Staten Island except for the wonderful glimpses you shared here on the forum.  I remember feeling so envious of all those in the picture Ben posted.  It was clear everyone had a great time.  I can't even begin to fathom the meaning of Ben's second picture but do wish i knew the backstory.  I know you've got your hands full bu one of these days the JADA will return.

Alex,

I wasn't around when you had that layout and didn't get to see what you posted on the forum. I'm glad that others had the memories stored away. I always wondered if guys like you, Alan Graziano, Stu Gralnik, Joe Fauty, etc. had layouts. Actually Stu and Joe do have one.  You all are such wonderful builders it has always was an interest to see you all put that work into your own layouts. If I had those type of skills the sky would be the limit. No I really mean it, I would be trying to build some structures that would reach that far, lol.

Anyhoo, these pics are nothing short of what I expected. Everything has been said about how wonderful your layout was. It just builds the anxiety for your next layout which I won't say will be better, but will be great in an entire different way.

Keep us posted as I know you have something great in store for us all.

David

Hi everyone,

I'd like to thank you all for the kind comments, and great photos. We had some fantastic times in my old house. I remember those train get together's we always had between 50 and 75 people, the fun, the laughs, and the great conversation was beautiful. Also the food was delicious.

If anyone else has video's or pictures of my old layout, please post them here, I'd love to see them.

I'm hoping to start the JADA III this coming winter !!

Thanks again, Alex

Great videos Alex, I also like the pictures posted. Out with the old in with the new as they say. That may be somewhat true but remember that old still works. I hope that whatever greatness that was in the old layout, finds a place in the new one. And if not, maybe something even better than what was. There's always some element that often we cannot do without in our ideas, hope to see what comes.

Great pictures of a great looking layout!

As I get older I find that I don't look forward to the coming of winter as much as I did when I was younger, but in your case Alex, I'll make an exception ...especially if winter has it's jump start in your neighborhood rather than mine.  Best wishes towards the construction of Garden State division of the JADA RR.
