Does anyone run two different sizes on the same board?

Even prototype freight cars can be "different sizes".

I'm liking the looks of the Pecos River Boxcars, but they will not negotiate my inner track.

Why not? If it is a 3-Rail car, the truck/coupler should swing enough for even sharp curves. What is the curve size of your "inner track"?

I'm wondering how silly it would look to run the scale Pecos cars on my outer loop and the Lionel cars on my inner Reverse Y track.

As I stated above, real railroad freight cars are all different sizes.

You can do it if you like.  I used to set up my operations with the smaller Railking engines pulling the smaller cars such as the postwar boxcars by Lionel, and the old style small wooden reefers that a lot of the Mfrs. made.   The Premier scale engines were used to pull the premier size rolling stock.  Looks good that way but heck, you sit at a crossing and see all size cars mixed together in a consist, so I did that too.  You are the conductor, manager, engineer, etc.

VL Bigboy and VL Hudson have what I think are scale rolling stock, on the   Legacy Diesel and a WBB diesel are what I think “traditional”  , the “Big Emma “ steam and NASCAR diesel have what I think are “027”.

When friends come over, the size of the rolling stock is never mentioned but the BigBoy and Hudson are noticed really quick.
