ModelMaster Car Works, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Hi Terry -  ModelMaster was a small family business operated by my dad, Ralph Ackerman, who was a world-class model maker himself.  I remember accompanying down to the yards in Cedar Rapids, where he would photograph the cars, leading to scale drawings. All components of the ModelMaster kits  were made within a ten-mile drive from home. In addition to the rolling stock, ModelMaster sold both O and HO gauge spikes. Every now and then an unused box will show up for sale online.
