Add color . Surprisingly my only tank car. I do have a lot of boring 1960's two bay coal hoppers.

I agree. Over the years I bought about 15 Lionel 8000 gal. single-dome silver Sunoco tank cars. They are essentially scale size, metal, well-detailed cars. Pulled by any old freight steamer loco, they make a great looking unit train.
They can usually be found at train shows, but not many compared to the two-dome tankers, as the single -dome were only made from 1947-50 (I think). Prices are all over the place, but I held out for the $20 -- $30 range.
