My K-Line K-29802 PRR PA-1 Semi-Scale ABA Diesel has TMCC and two motors in each A unit. I noticed that the set wasn't pulling normally, and, with a little investigation, I discovered that the motors in the rear A unit aren't running.

The directional lighting and the smoke unit in the rear unit are operating normally, so it would seem that the electrical connection from the front A unit through the dummy B unit to the rear A unit is OK. I noticed the problem after lubricating all three units and putting them back on the track--I don't know if that could possibly have anything to do with it; it seems unlikely.

Any ideas on why the motors in the rear A unit aren't running?

Cheers!

Keith

Thank you, gentlemen.

Following the direction that you all pointed in, I started with the easiest thing, which was to check the continuity of the tether going through the B unit. I found that 6 of the 8 wires had continuity; those would be for the smoke, lights, and coupler. Two of the wires did not; those would be for the motors in the trailing A unit. I tried just pressing the wires tighter into the connector. That did the trick. Possibly the wires had been pulled sometime when the B unit and the leading A unit came uncoupled.

Again, thank you!
