Mounting magnet glue suggestions

A hot glue gun is the first thing that comes to mind. It usually peels off cleanly if you need to remove it.

Not sure if this will work. I know Jim Policastro uses glue dots for placing figures.

Sam...do an internet search on double sided tapes. Like most adhesives, double sided tape is available in various holding strengths. I have used some double sided tape that will put the plaster of a wall before letting loose. We use some at work that is super thin and can take high temp that you may as well call permanat. Sometimes if they are a bit too hard to remove applying some heat will help. Start with the 3M foam tapes.

All good suggestons-- here's another-- Dow Corning RTV. silicone based, holds to almost any surface, yet will peel off easily if necessary. leaves no residue, either.

I use silicon- as Fec suggested. Like car window glass clear sealer. I glue my figures onto the train cars with it. If I remove one, the silicone can be rubbed off the metal with your finger. But it does a good job holding stuff in place.

Walthers GOO - my glue of choice. Bond seems to get better with age.

Might be hard getting it off plastics (it is, after all, not supposed to come off), and it is
brown, which may or may not be relevant to the appearance of your project.

I think I'd do the hot glue.  I've had good luck peeling that off when I need to, but it makes a pretty good bond.  I use it inside shells for wiring lights all the time.

Use the CA take it off with finger nail polish remover.

The acetone attacks many plastics, not sure I'd do that.

You might just want to use silicone caulk. It's sticky enough to hold small stuff in place, but you can peel it off cleanly when necessary. We used to use the stuff to glue wood 1x2 studs onto the inside of fiberglass camper shells.
