Press Release
For immediate release

Atlanta, Indiana and Milford, Ohio – Liz and Steve Nelson, owners of MrMuffin’sTrains formerly of Carmel, Indiana, announced today the purchase of the business assets of Korber Models, LLC and the business’ relocation to Atlanta, Indiana.

“Korber Models continues to be a leading manufacturer of building model kits and assembled buildings for the model railroading hobby in both HO and O scale. With a long heritage of creative and innovative products manufactured exclusively in the United States, we will continue to offer these products to hobbyists through our growing model train hobby operations located in downtown Atlanta, Indiana along the historic Nickel Plate Road mainline” reported Steve Nelson.

For the past five years, Korber Models based in Milford, Ohio has been owned and operated by Rich and Teresa Redmond.

Steve continued, “Rich has done a terrific job as the steward of this classic brand of hobby model kits first created by Ernie Korber. Through Rich’s efforts, the kits have been retooled providing additional detail and improving the quality of the products, and, coupled with the additional new products created by Rich and his partners, Korber Models has grown in popularity amongst the hobbyists we both serve.”

“As Korber Models has grown and developed, it’s time for additional resources to be brought to bear to provide greater focus and day to day operational support. We have known Steve and Liz for a long time and they have built a great reputation for terrific customer service as well as being active hobbyists themselves. We could not have found a better team to continue Korber Models growth, we are confident that our customers will be well served by the Nelsons” said Rich Redmond.

Korber Models - has been a leader in model railroading structures since 1979, making great looking, unique and easy to build models that bring your railroad to life. Korber Models produces a complete line of structures for HO and O Scale hobbyists featuring unique items such as the popular roundhouse, power plant and grain silos. www.korbermodels.com

Liz and Steve Nelson own and operate several small businesses out of their headquarters in Atlanta, Indiana, including MrMuffin’sTrains, a model train museum and retail shop that serves the hobby needs of its customers across the United States. www.mrmuffinstrains.com

... Now I know where to find you at York. At the Korber booth. ...

Steve and Liz have been holding down the fort at their own booth in York for a couple years now.  And if I recall correctly, the Korber booth was right next door in the same aisle.  Steve is turning into a toy train mogul!!!  Can't recall who has the booth on the other side of MrMuffin's Trains (or who's across the aisle for that matter), but at this rate Steve might be buying them out too in a couple of years.

First, thanks to all who have supported us over the past 5 years, the experience has been great.  When we decided to find a new home for Korber, finding the right folks to continue the legacy was important to us.

Steve and Liz are just a perfect choice we have known them for year and they are great hobbyists.  They will continue the great brand and products that make up Korber.

many thanks also to Alex M for the great work on Korber Komplete, which he will continue with Steve and Liz to deliver great built up models.

We look forward to seeing many of you at York.

Hi Rich

It was a pleasure working with you and Teresa, building up these great models. Like you said I will be happy to carry on the legacy building these great models with Steve and Liz.

See you all at York,

Thanks, Alex

First, good luck Rich and Teresa in whatever the future holds for you both. You have been great neighbors in the Orange hall for the past five years.

I talked to Liz for a bit on Thursday, and she and Steve are very excited about the future plans for the Korber line. One can tell by just looking at Steve and Liz that they truly enjoy what they do, and I wish them both continued success with their new location and new acquisition. Steve promised some new video of the layout once it is completed at the new store.
