Can someone advise me if “pin-out” diagrams are available that will let me connect several electrical wires to the plugs at the ends of each chassis? Apologies if the attached photos are fuzzy.

No. What are you trying to do? G
Three wires are disconnected from the pins on the “back side” of the plugs. I believe I need to identify the pins on the plugs and their corresponding wire color to assure that each of the three disconnected wires get reattached to the correct pin on the plug. Have recently discovered some very small numbers molded into the black plastic plug body, and some corresponding numbers marked on the “PC” type board at the other end of the wiring assembly. Currently believe I will try using these these to guide me in reattaching of the wires.
I have not worked on one of those engines and had to look it up. That is a pass through. So you need to look at the other end and identify what wire is on the pin that is missing a wire. Trace it back to the PS-2 3V source. That will tell you the function. Then follow the 3 wires off the connector to the junction see if color changes but follow the wiring trace to the end unit and see what it is controlling. The PS-2 3V upgrade kit instructions which are on MTH web will tell you each of the PS-2 boards connector function. What is not working on the trail unit might tell you what those wires go to. G
Is that the separate sale B unit? Or the B unit that came with the set? Might compare them to see if they are wired the same color wise? If so the B unit that is good would help you get the wires right. Again the dummy B have a pass through harness not meant to change funtion between A and A units. G
I believe 5569-1C was part of a set, and 5569-3 was an add-on unit.
Thanks for your response, it will be very useful. The wires do change color on either side of the plugs mounted in the middle of the chassis.
