I am purchasing a collection of engines and this set was in the purchase. Having a hard time finding a value on this set besides what it sold for new. Any thoughts or ideas? Was thinking if I bought it I would repaint the shells but it does look nice with all the chrome.

I would not repaint it. For one thing, it's a fairly uncommon paint job. For another thing, the paint will not stick to the chrome plating very well.

If you don't like it, sell it. Some things should be left original. There are plenty of MTH Santa Fe's out there if you want to repaint something.
I don't see much in the resale market on these. Any idea what would be a decent price? They are new and unrun.
