Bot new- ran once and went over an MTH turnout. The engine stopped and began a high pitched, high speed "whirring" sound. Any ideas before I take it to get fixed?
If you mean a high pitched speaker sound, and dead board then the audio amp may have blown. I would not power it up.
If the engine is still powered but the whine is mechanical, I have seen misalignment between motor worm gear and the axle gear and you are hearing the gear stripe. Either case don't run until it is checked out. G
