@MartyE posted:I'm pretty much not getting excited over any of this. When the smoke clears and the facts come out, not the I heard from a reliable source folks, then I'll go from there. Too many rumors, hopes, reliable sources, and info from the guy that cuts Mike's grass, makes for some interesting and fun reading but that's about it. Until then if he can get a few more trains in the hands of those that want them then good for MTH!
I'm with Marty on this. Also, a comment up above about paying close attention to what was said on the Trainworld show hits the mark. I watched the show and as I heard it this primarily relates to producing delayed products in the pipeline.
But, who knows? Lots of speculation and we're all guessing.
I feel certain that Mike's first preference was to sell MTH as a going concern either in its entirety or in its component parts to a buyer or multiple buyers. That makes total sense from a financial standpoint. For example, the tooling itself must be worth many millions of dollars and he would get only pennies on the dollar for its scrap value. Having done a lot of M&A work over the years, I have seen many potential deals that were on the table, some of which have even progressed to the agreement in principle stage, never be consummated ultimately for a variety of reasons. We may never know the full story of what occurred once Mike decided to exit the business, and it is also possible that there is more to come before the future of MTH is fully determined.
Pat
Well, I have it good report from a guy named Stanley who said he steamed Mike's carpets, that, well, maybe that is hear-say as well....
So sorry to hear about MTH.

Give them time. I am making a guess and saying that the Premier units will be announced in the future. They did just that (well, opposite order) with the BNSF 25 years units.
