If the new device is on the same platform then no but if you own it say on an Android and switch to Apple you’ll need to buy it again.
I tried to transfer to my new device but a message came up stating I had no apps to transfer. Will I need to go back to the google store to do this. Thought maybe mth had a lock on transfers.

as long as you stay with the Android platform and signed into the Google Play Store with the same account. You can download the MTH app on a new device and upgrade to the Standard or Premium for free. If you want to switch to an Apple iPhone, you'll need to pay the upgrade fee again. If you use a different google account on another android device, you'll need need to pay the upgrade fee. Using device transfer will not necessarily transfer the paid upgrade as that is associated with your google account login.
