MTH AQUARIUM CARS

I'm sure somebody has had the same problems with MTH Aquarium cars. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Has anybody found a way to solve this problem?

I believe there was a problem with the band or gear or something and mth was giving /sending free fixes for this. I am sure someone else will chime in on this subject. Not sure what it was but I know for sure they knew about it.
