Which city of Miami are you talking about?

Two states have a city by the name Miami; Ohio and Florida.

If it is the City of Miami FL, the car should be a Florida East Coast Railroad car. FEC was the only passenger line to Miami FL before 1965, after 65 it would be Amtrak.

History of FEC, a strike by passenger workers for FEC eliminated passenger service on the line in 1964. FEC headquarters claimed to be losing money on the run and an increase was not able to be met. Since 1965 FEC has only done freight service.

There are two MTH versions of the IC City of Miami in RailKing and Premier. The RailKing versions are somewhat smaller than the Premier.

I have not had a chance to run mine yet; I just took out the engine to put on a shelf.

For Florida-bound Chicagoans in the winter of 1940, the City of Miami was the first taste of the tropical vacation that lay ahead.

The Premier version:

Looks like I was wrong about who ran the City of Miami train. It was the Illinois Central. I thought it was FEC.

There is very limited service out of Miami FL by rail today, only two morning trains. Return is an evening train. Trains run on CSX track that goes through Orlando and Sebring FL then on to West Palm Beach and Miami.
