How in the name of the good lord do you replace the traction tyres on a Climax logging loco?????

I can't seem to get the side frames off, as they appear to be part of the running gear supporting the various drive lines and geared shafts!!!

Heaven forbid I upset that delicate geared driveline!!!!

As you may be able see, that front R/H tire is about to commit hari-kari, and one tire was actually "thrown" yesterday during a running session, but I was able to thread it back on....but it won't be long before it decides to leave the party again, for good!!

I have plenty of spares, but getting them in and onto the grooved wheel is almost impossible!!!!

I concur….

I bought Bullfrog Snot because I couldn’t find replacement tires for my Weaver Dreyfus.

I have to agree the stuff isn’t all that great. It made a mess of the wheels and drive rods. And getting dried residue off the pieces near the drive wheel and off the drive wheel itself was an ugly process.

Thanks Bob for the search reference in 2018. Checked it out and.......NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!

Looks like I have to completely disassemble the drive line and front truck to get at the little bugger!!! And to watch for the "falling ball bearings" as well....Oh yeh, yet another instance of "the simple things in life become complicated" (quote from "Substitute" by The Who).

I don't think I will go down the road of the "Bull Frog Snot" any time in the future, but will set aside a day to tackle this daunting task.

Thanks for everyone's help.
