Hoping MTH will see this and respond. Twice MTH has made CN passenger consists in the black/grey scheme. Twice MTH used a standard observation car. I almost bought these cars and a pair of C liners recently. But for me, this needs the Skytop Observation car. CN aquired these from the Milwaukee Road and wore CN colors in the late 60's into the 70's. MTH has the tooling. Lets have a CN set with the more interesting Skytop Obs !

How does the Lionel Sky Top end compare to the MTH or K-Line ones?
Be honest I don't know. I have the one Lionel did for the TCA. And if K-line or MTH has done one I have never seen it......Paul
MTH has done that car. They are hard to find. For a few years I have been looking for a set for a Forum member in Canada. I have had people want to buy it. If you want to see more pictures of this beautiful car, GOOGLE MTH CN observation cars. Look at MTH 2007 V1 and put in 20-65109. Click on features and you will see the observation car.
Those CN cars are beautiful. As with many passenger cars I like, I always purchase two sets. I have many full domes and extra RPO cars. The RPO is a beautiful car. My Grandson lives in Canada and I have many Canadian locomotives and cars to give him now or when I am pushing daisies.
I have a huge respect for train guys in Canada. They pay attention to anything coming out in Canada livery. Sometimes if you snooze, you loose. Being a passenger car guy, I look close at every passenger car being offered.

Marty, was the car part of a 5 car set or an individual car? Really bummed I missed this one. When was it cataloged?
2007 V1 item 20-65109. In the pictures it did not show but if you click on features it will give the information. Tough item to find. My radar and that of Dotty has been full on at York trying to find one for my friend in Canada. It was part of the set. From the start of your post I have had two people email me wanting to buy the car. One guy was very big with his $40.00 offer.

Perhaps a repost to the Manufacturer's MTH Products forum. They read there for sure based on responses from them.
I would be willing to bet if you looked at train stores in the SW part of our country you may get lucky. If I am looking for west coast trains, I look on the east coast. If I am looking for east coast trains, I look on the west coast. Google is always your friend when searching for trains.
I will look for the car now. Appreciate the info Marty! I think MTH could do another run of these and sell enough to make it worthwhile. 2007 explains why I missed this one, was in midst of restoring an old house and moving. No snoozing...lol.
Marty, I have a very good friend who desperately wants the GGD/3rd Rail Canadian in Via. If you stumble across this rare gem in your travels line me up a deal, I'll send you a good bottle old scotch for your troubles
I have been looking for the CN Skytop set for years. Yes, I am Canadian. Marty, your grandson doesn't require two sets, I'll take one so you can make room. Al lol.
He will never part with it. As you know, every time I am at York both Dotty and I have been looking hard for that set for you. Someday one of us will see it at a nothing train show. I have conversed with Mike over this. One thing I have observed is the Canadian guys are on top of anything with Canadian road names. I have many CN/CP items. When they see something they want they pull the trigger.
Marty, If you ever see a set, regardless of price I will take it. Al
Even pay you a finders fee ( Tim Hortons gift card), like real money in Canada.

You haven't looked very hard. Here's the 21-inch K-Line version (aluminum). They show up on eBay often enough.

Tim's is my favorite in the world. I check with you each time before going to York. My favorite Tim's is in Welland.
