I just purchased a DAP presidential Dummy locomotive engine used with the DAP engine used by the first President Bush on his campaign. I plan to use it on my layout on 0-42 curves. Since it is a DAP engine is new in the box and a premier engine what is the collector value of the engine. Thanks for any information.

Very few items today have collector value so my suggestion is to run what you have.
Btw the dummy is worth about $175.00, powered about $300.00

FWIW, Since it is a DAP Premier item with a rather catchy paint scheme. I'd leave it in the box for now. When you're able purchase a covered display for it. Put it up for others and yourself to admire.

I don't plan on leaving it in the box. I didn't purchase it to display it. I just bought it and planned on using it as a dummy engine with my powered locomotive. I just was wondering and thought I would ask here on the forum since it is sort of a rare paint sceme thinking it was collectable or more valuable than the usual Dash 8 with normal CSX markings. Thanks for the information. Maybe there is a MTH product value box out there to check its value.
I had one that I ran with my MTH 4141 GHWB SD70ACe. It looks nice. Turned out a young fellow liked it more that I did. Sold it a couple of years ago.

only dap items i have seen with"collector value" is the N.S. f-unit passenger train a few years back .hope you bought your csx because you liked it.-jim
Thanks for the information on the engine. I just started getting into O scale and MTH has a lot of great looking locomotives. I wanted another engine to run with my NS engine. I saw this and it looked great with the American Flag on the engine.
