MTH DCS Second Generation Thumbwheel Issue | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a MTH DCS remote with the second generation thumbwheel. This is the one with the wider lines on the thumbwheel. Sometimes when I go to decrease the speed with the thumbwheel, the speed will actually increase or if I increase the speed, the speed will stay the same. Happens randomly except seems to be worse when moving the thumbwheel quickly. The remote has not been used very much. Very little use time.

Is this something that can be fixed/adjusted or does the thumbwheel need to be replaced?

I don't know that replacing them will fix it, I see this to some degree on all my remotes. I even happens to one that has a new thumbwheel that doesn't have more than a couple of hours runtime on it.

Both my remotes act like that, one a little more than the other. Slow and easy is better.

This year, I’m trying to stick to quicksetting speed. Even if you just change it a few mph, it seems to work. Just a thought.
