Thanks in advance for any replies. A new MTH H10-44 with BCR from Ebay. With either MTH Z1000 or Z500 going through a new MTH Z-Controller would not get out of reset. There is a voltmeter reading track voltage, the BCR was "charged" and I have tried many times using instruction manual and ATTENTION notice. I tried interrupting the voltage, pressing the whistle button, the H10 never left reset. A PS 1 SD40 ran ok with the above MTH Z transformer and controller. I next tried a Lionel LW transformer and the H10 ran ok. The LW has whistle and direction buttons. When I go the feature 6 to adjust the engine volume, to 50%, pushing the whistle button does not play the engine volume to adjust it but instead goes to feature.

Is there any way to have the H10 run with the MTH transformers / controller? and if not can I change different feature levels with the LW?  Thanks for reading through all this and for your experience. Richard

Before condemning the loco or the BCR, I would try the loco with a postwar transformer, just to see if it starts and runs. Some MTH locos will work with the smaller Z type transformers and some don't. If the loco doesn't run on a postwar transformer, it might need attention, either to the PS chip, or the top board. If you are near where I live, would be happy to look at it. I am in east central Penna. Let us know how you make out.
