I have a rtr ps2 sd70ace. It has about 20 min on it. It worked fine at my house. I took it to a local show that a club I belong to put on. I used it on the club layout that uses mth dcs system. Train ran fine. I tried to use it under the tree and it will not respond to the rtr remote at all. Engine either does nothing or it runs at full speed with no way to slow it down.

If you run it under full DCS you need to do factory reset with DCS in order for the remote commander will run the engine.
how do I do that
Take it back to your club or to someone who has a DCS system and get them to do a factory reset.

Yes , they are correct, what happened is that when you had it at home out of the box the engine was assigned "engine #0" in the ID. when you took it to your club layout , the DCS assigned it whatever open number , say for example "Engine #13" and what happened is the engine now thinks it is Engine #13. The DCS remote that comes with the set that you have operates on the Engine #0 ID. So if the engine is not set at "0" then the Handheld cannot find it. If you have a factory reset done all will be fine.
