MTH Norfolk Southern SD45 Custom Run!

MTH has made another great looking looking diesel. Put two or three of those diesels together with a string of flats with trailers and you will have a great looking train.

The markings on the sides of the cab show "SD45-2", yet your thread title reflects "SD45 Custom Run!". However, the trucks sure look like SD45 trucks, and NOT the HT-C trucks of an "SD45-2". So,,,,,,,why is the cab side showing "SD45-2"?

This is the railking scale SD45 (old premier tooling in which you get a premier size engine at the railking price).  We did the best we could since MTH does not make a Railking SD45-2.

OK but, then why is the side of the cab lettered "SD45-2"?

The prototype NS 1704 is an SD45-2 (and operates in the vicinity of EZ Catch)

Hi Pat....just want to say we finally got home (Australia) and the new RailKing Norfolk Southern SD-45 I picked-up from you on the Memorial Day Saturday is now sitting on a siding on my Buco layout!!!

I LOVE IT.......especially the way the ditch lights come on when it starts moving forward, or when you hit the horn button!!!  It crawls ever so slow, and never hesitates going through my Buco switches.

Thank you again for holding it for me, and allowing me to "pick it up" at your E-Z Catch Train Shop on Staten Island. Driving there from Scranton PA was "interesting", at least for two country kids from Queensland, Australia who drive on the "other" side of the road.

Hey Pat.....just found this photo of the handsome owner of E-Z Catch Train Shop delivering my new RailKing SD-45 on the Memorial Day Saturday.

I would say listening to that motor there that the armature sprocket is causing interference, which in turn causes the combustion line to interfere with the flow and the dynaflow.  Oh wait never mind  That was only on the -2
