I recently purchased an MTH Premier Mohawk that is rated for 054 curves. I noticed that it can handled 048 curves with the exception of the cab catching a piece of the tender. Is it possible to replace the wireless drawbar with a longer version? Does MTH sell a longer wireless drawbar? If so could someone please advise.

Yes they do, with shorter and longer drawbars. You have the PS2 version correct? Is so see link below
