Dave, you are correct.

You will need one receiver for each Z4000 and only one remote to control both Z4000s. 

At the bottom of the remote is where you select which Z4000 you will control and at the top is where you select which track you will control. A single Z4000 remote can run up to 3 Z4000s and up to 6 tracks.

Thank you,  that's what common sense told me but I wanted to be sure.

I picked up a couple of these about a year ago.  Finding them was a challenge - I don't think they've made them for some time.  And I won't pay $190 for one on ebay...

A DCS remote (NOT the wifi) will also operate these receivers.  Good luck on finding them.  They are a very sound trouble-free way to run conventional

Thanks to all who answered I picked up a new set for $149.00 and an extra receiver for $75.00 that's the cheapest I could find them.

Not bad considering they have been discontinued for a while now. Also, the DCS remote can also control the Z4000 receivers. However though, the DCS remote is also in fear of being discontinued soon.

That guy must read the this forum the price has been raised 3 times since my initial post and is now at $225.00 LOL.
