MTH PA announcements freeze controller

Any suggestions - my mth engines run awesome until i press the PA announcement button, the announcement plays but then the controller doesnt respond. i have to shut it down, turn it on and reconnect to the engine -- is it me? thanks

It is you.

Try pressing the direction button, and listen to the play back. Keep pressing the direction button until the bell is ringing, the engine is ready to move. After 30 seconds the bell will stop.
