Our special runs in this next batch will be  Falstaff, in a different scheme on a green refrigerator car, and a really old style "Lone Star Brewing, San Antonio, Tx"

It took a lot of digging to find the the Lone Star scheme....and the Falstaff has the logo on the left side, and the car is green.  No pix on those yet...waiting to get artwork.   I'll have these available for pre-order as soon as I get some artwork.

Thanks,

beth

Answers to some questions....

1. The next Falstaff car...I cant remember if it has  "Lemp" on it ior night right now.  There is at least one "Falstaff-Lemp"  car that ive found  but its not very attractive.  There are at least 3 Falstaff cars that I can find pix of.   The next car may be a hybrid of 2 other cars.....I try to keep everything as prototypical as I can, but i also have to take a few liberties here and there  to keep the car from being unattractive and unappealing to the general public.

2. Pearl Brewery had their own railroad , The Texas Transportation Company".   It was one of the last electric (overhead wire) common carrier freight shortlines.  Tracks into the plant, and then street running down to the SP interchange in San Antonio.    I believe their last 2 electric engines are in a museum. (I think the old brewer may have been made into a museum. not sure)  I can find pix of Pearl's Frig cars from the 1960's/70's.  They were 50' bunkerless reefers. with a white /blue  Pearl Country Club Beer lettering.     No pix of any earlier cars, but they obviously shipped beer in reefers for a long time.    I used the emblem/lettering from a 1940's Pearl Brewing truck, to estimate a Pearl Frig car of similar vintage.

3. I found a picture of from about 1910 or so of a Lone Star Brewing Co. building with RR tracks with Lone star Brewing  Co. Frig Cars .  The Lone Star car we are doing are taken from that picture.

Obviously, a lot of frig cars out there are blatantly not prototypical.   I at least try to keep everything prototypical looking....accurate reporting marks and dimensional data, etc.

thx
