Does anyone happen to know the size of the set screw (thread, pitch, etc) MTH used on Premier steam locomotives with Pittman motors? I have a flywheel here that's missing one and I'm like to know the size so I can buy one from a fastener supplier. Thanks.

Lou I'll bet you can get the set screw from ace hardware if you have a store near you just take the flywheel with you and match up the set screws they have! see below!

I already tried the local Ace. They had nothing that fit. The set screws were all too large.
Here is a place that sells assortment sets. If you can determine the whether metric or English, that would be a good start...I am guessing metric.

Also, if you can post the model number of the actual locomotive we are talking about, that might help too...

It's the standard 30mm flywheel used in Premier steam locomotives with Pittman motors. Pick any Premier Hudson, Mountain, Northern, or Texas. They all use the same flywheel.
