Have Railking proto 2 engine that smokes perfect when going on curve track but doesn't work when its on straight track. Checked the fan and it works and the smoke unit works. Also checked all the grounds. Any body have any ideas. Don't want to run it on a circle of track LOL.

As with all other request What engine? Product number. Ten pin tether or wireless draw bar? If tether it could have a bad wire in the tether or the plug in the back of the engine could have a bad solder joint. If it has wireless draw bar is it seated correctly?
Have it working now. Must be that there is a loose wire in the tether. Once I played with the position of the tether it worked.
It's quite possible you have either a broken wire in the tether or a cracked solder joint on the locomotive tether connection PCB. That would account for intermittent running of the smoke fan.
