Can anyone help me out by in lighting me if you can use protosmoke with legacy
and get the same results as with Lionel & Mega steam products.

If your question is whether or not the different smoke fluids from MTH, Mega Steam, and Lionel are compatible in each others engines, the answer is yes they are.
do you really want to put out the smoke out of your smoke unit?..here a mod mth with proto smoke fluid..just imagine what megasteam would do..ive done this to a stock lionels smoke unit with the same results..
My apologizes my question is does MTH smoke fluid create large quantities of smoke and is it safe to use in legacy engines.

like SJC said above its safe to use in your lionel smoke units..and it will create more smoke..but im going to order megasteam to see what it do in my moded smoke units..

I've used Lionel, Proto Smoke, and JT's MegaSteam. I don't see any significant difference in the quantity of smoke I get out of fan driven smoke units.
