Greetings, All. I pulled the Mohawk out to put on the Christmas Village this year and I was greeted with a test run of about 5 feet, after which I have been unable to get it to respond to any speed input, both from the thumbwheel remote or the DCS wifi app. I can control all the sound and light functions, as well as the drawbar. Smoke stopped at the same time movement did. I've swapped out drawbars, checked connections, pinned out wiring, and inspected for poor solder connections. I've tried resetting the engine as well. If I move the flywheel by hand while on the track, I can get it to chuff. I suspect I have a bad boiler board, which appears to be the newer EMI unit.

As it would appear these boards are restricted for purchase, is there a trusted source to work with to get this loco running again?

Thanks!

That is unfortunate that they are not available. I put a lot of faith into MTH going with full DCS and wifi. Kinda wishing I'd kept it simple with manual switches and a Lionchief loco.  D

Does the boiler board seem likely based on my troubleshooting? Doesn't look like I'll have it up and running for this Christmas, but I will need to get it running. I may sell the loco and all the DCS stuff considering there is not a lot of use on this engine and a loco I can't use isn't much use to me.

I have one left in stock along with 2 Tender boards.  BUT, you can have a bad wire between drawbar and boiler board.  Or on tender side.  So, best to have boards test on bench tester to half the problem.  At that point having both shells off and drawbar connected you can do continuity test between tender plug and boiler plug to see if you have an issue.  Data, 5V, PV or Ground wire potentially being bad if the boiler board is fine.  G

Any chance this board might still be available?
