MTH Railking Scale MP-15 are on the way

They all look sharp.

Beth - there are, to my eyes, 3 distinct differences between some of these engines.
1) Horn placement 2) fuel tank size 3) roof line immediately forward of the cab. Are these all MP15s? Thanks.

I have an L&N MP15.  Really nice, and reasonably priced.  Nice models.

SOO and Delmarva are MP-15AC's

MP and PBNE are MP-15DC's

Now we need an SW-900 in Raritan River (red & white) to go with your Caboose. 

The RRRR SW-900's were done by Atlas 3 times.    Is there still demand for more?

Im hoping that Atlas will make their SW's again some day.   Seems doubtful at this point.

They re-ran the MTH S-2 switchers, but  620. retail/ 569. discounted i thought was just more than ppl wanted to pay for a switch engine.

Lionel is a little better at 550/499 for their SW-1's and SW1200's., but still at the top end, IMHO, and the min for special runs is more than I can sell.

So far I've stuck with the MTH railking scale switchers.  They are nice scale engines, and 100 bucks or more cheaper than Lionel and Atlas switchers.

The only expensive switch engine ive done special run on is the MTH Premier VO1000, with a price of 529/479, and MTH was much better on min qty.

Maybe when Lionel does SW or alco S units again, i'll find a way to jump in, if they dont up the price again....Altho..TBH, I have about 10 or so Lionel Legacy diesel switchers here now, at 499,

I can tell you now, tho, when MTH announces RS-1's again, I'll be doing Maryland and Delaware, and probably rutland....unless I come up with some other road the I think will sell better,   Id love to do AW&W, but who even knows what the RR is, other than me.  They had a well known "late in life" fleet of RS-1's.      I think the other possibility was Ann Arbor...  I think the Wabash scheme has been done..so i was thinking the DT&I scheme.  IDK.

I love the MTH RS-1.  It's RailKing in name only.  Scale size, Premier level detail, and no miniature smoke unit (like the RS-3 has).

The other possibilities for RS-1's are SP&S, C&EI  (i prefer the black/white scheme) or santa fe zebra stripe)     All things considered,   I think I'll go with SP&S.    Comments welcome....

The Rutland would be fantastic! Atlas made them many years ago but they’re hard to find. When they do come up they’re more than what a new Mth model would be, and they all have EOB which will need replacement sooner or later. Any chance of doing 3-4 road numbers?

I like these switchers and think they should be labeled premier. I just wish MTH would have put 3/2 trucks inside them. That has prevented me from buying more as I run mainly 2 rail.

I bought a couple of 3/2 trucks, but the wheelbase is bigger.

I sure don't understand that one. Wonder what's going on with them? I would have thought there is great demand in 2-scale. I've been waiting.

Honestly, we are lucky they are making any 2 rail at all.   2 rail sales just are not that robust.
