MTH Railking Smoke unit questions

Look under the rear of the loco on one side should be a switch.

Do a Product search for the other engines and check out the manuals.

For PS-1 steam the smoke switch was always under the engine at the rear of the engine.  Some times there are extra empty holes.  The Smoke switch is label smoke with on - off.

For PS-2 engines the smoke switch is always were the boards are.  For early engines this can be on the engine as often as tender.

For the later PS-2 3V boards most are in tender and the switch may now be a rheostat like the volume pot.  It will be labeled smoke.

Again, the PS-2 may also have empty slots, so you have to look closely.

As Paul said you can find most instructions on the MTH Web.  Go to the service link, then the documents link, then type in model number.  The service site has documents that the main site may not have.  G

Assuming that Bill does not have a DCS TIU & remote, I think doing a factory reset on all of these locomotives should turn on the smoke just in case it has been switched using a DCS remote. If my assumption is incorrect, then the perhaps the DCS remote can be used to assure the smoke is ON.

Thanks for the advice. Have 3 working now. WOW!! Might not use in much. After a few laps around my 13 x 16 basement layout it felt that I was in a Smokey old bar room. Not that I've ever spent time in any Smokey old bar rooms!  Must have saw that in a Bogart movie LOL

Bill, what was wrong?

Located the on-off switches under the engine as suggested. All were off. Tks again!
