I got this Loco earlier this year, I've never been able to identify the specific Item number, it came with no box. I've searched the internet and get some other V&TRR Locos that have different numbers and names, but not this one. Fun little steamer. Anyone have an idea?

MTH RailKing Ten Wheeler Virginia & Truckee - "Truckee #19", ProtoSound 2

This is a close guess, but not quite it. https://mthtrains.com/30-1278-1

Maybe this one?

Maybe this one?

No, there are several that are close, for example, the one you linked to is the Virginia, there's another called Tahoe, Empire, one with a number called 25. I've even looked in digital copies of catalogs from 1999-2012, perhaps I don't have them all. Kind of an amusing mystery. I suppose it could have been customized, but if it was it was well done.

It’s possibly from an R-T-R set such as this one

With as much product that came out of MTH when Mike Wolfe retired, there’s no telling what you may have. So so many production samples, paint samples, test mules, etc, came out of the closet and hit the market, that if you can’t find the item # by the description, then it probably doesn’t exist in their inventory,……not saying that’s the case for sure, but it’s a distinct possibility……
