Im wondering if any of you guru’s out there might know what voltage is needed to power MTH smoke unit, cab & nose headlight bulbs, and marker/number board LED’s? I seem to think power should be lower than track voltage. See my attached pictures, I’m wondering if I could either tap into power from the boards that are here, or maybe buy new 12-16 volt bulbs and replace the bulbs that are here, or somehow do something like get resistors to lower track voltage to whatever is needed. A few weeks back I bought a used MTH 20-2453-1 NYC powered E6 A unit. I bought it at a LHS when I was out of town, and didn’t realize that none of the lights work until now. I removed the shell to add and new BCR, and spotted these two connectors dangling. I see nowhere to plug them in at, AND the sound chip sticker says SW8/9 switcher, so I guess someone did some fiddling. For what I paid and for what it is, I don’t care. Conventional running with some random sounds is fine. I’d kinda like at least a headlight. Number board, marker lights, and smoke would be a sweet bonus.
