The weekly MTH email has the announcement.  Here's a link.

No six-story city/department store buildings again this year.

I am in agreement with you on the no six-story buildings... again.  Did MTH lose the moulds and don't want to admit it?  One can never find them for sale and when you look and hope to the manufacturer to produce some more... oh well.  It's getting ridiculous.

Nine long years since the last new releases in the 2011 RTR.    Before that, they released about 2-3 yrs apart beginning in 2002.    Hint...hint...A couple of uncatalogued 6-story buildings would be a pleasant surprise, MTH.

Nothing I have to have other than the annual Christmas boxcar (the Traditional/Religious version, of course). I always look forward to they new Christmas car...I've amassed quite the collection I love running on my layout from Thanksgiving to early January!

MTH's RTR Catalogs have really gotten stale over the past few years. Nothing really new for sets, seems they've been cataloging the Amtrak set and the Canadian Pacific Christmas set for the past several years, at least since 2017...there used to be some tempting stuff for the more seasoned hobbyists in there, not much lately.

I also noted this is billed as the "2020-2021" catalog...I take that as meaning there will be no catalog for next year and this will cover the next couple years...wonder if that indicates where the market is!

I liked the Christmas stuff. Those two new ES44's looked pretty cool, as well as the new boxcar set. Did anyone see the 2020 volume 2 cover in the back? Looks like another Reading T-1.

Good eye...hopefully that is a hint there will be some seriously updated (read: new) offerings for steam in the upcoming catalog...steam options have been pretty weak in recent years. Even other things like electrics.

There are several items MTH hasn't cataloged since the 5-volt board PS2 days a good 10-15 years ago...like the D16 4-4-0 and DD1 Electric, both in Premier...I'll pull my credit card out today if they offer those. I think it has been close to 15 years since they offered both of those. I know I want one and I know several other guys wanting those.

I kinda doubt there is a market for Big Boys in seemingly every catalog over the last few years but if there is...God Bless and more power to them for capitalizing on that!

I like the the Christmas stuff too, but have enough seasonal stuff. Even the new Christmas and halloween engines have the same sounds as what was released a few years ago

I heard that after the wifi was finished they were going to start coming out with newer PSA and PFA. I have not seen it. They need to get more realistic stuff like Lionel.

Well RidgeRunner,

I guess after reading about the news about Mike Wolf retiring, you and I will never see any new 6-story buildings produced after all.

Gotta keep searching the secondhand market where nobody who owns the 6-story units ever sells them.
