Well, I was having fun with my S2 (20-2497-1) maybe a little too much. Turned on the smoke to high rmps to have it really pour out smoke. It ran great for around 20 minutes. Then all of the sudden, it just stopped, didn't short out or play the shut down sounds (the battery was fully charged) anything just stopped. Then I turned it back on (after cycling the power) and started running it again (the same way as before). It ran fine for around 10 minutes, then it stopped again again no short or shut down sounds just stopped on a dime. This time after I cycled the power, nothing, no response in command (running through an MRC pure power dual with the wifi app). So I opened it up and turned it on in conventional on my workbench (using a CW80) it was acting weird. Included is a few videos and pictures of the board and smoke unit. Is there any way I could save the board and smoke unit or are they both as good as gone? I threw in a spare 3v board which I've since loaded the S2 sound file in so it works now just no smoke.

if your drawing more then an Amp your going to damage the board permeant , your smoke unit is drawing to much current !if you feel your rich keep powering it up n then you can upgrade to ps3 or ps 3/2 board!

The board can be test and repaired possibly. Not sure what happen. Smoke unit rebuildable too. Maybe element shorted or opened. Is the board original to the engine?
That is a small smoke unit board and has special flash code not in the Sound file to work with the small single element smoke unit. A normal board will send too much current to that smoke element and over heat it. G

I'm thinking the element did short or something with the smoke unit. Yes, the board is the original. I have a local tech I can send it to and have him service it. For now I'll just set both aside to send to him and run without smoke.
I did open the smoke unit it was burnt on one side, I'll grab pictures in a few but it registered at 8 ohms.
Does it also register 0 ohms to chassis ground. If so that is your problem. G
