Last January, MTH announced a Railking Santa Fe ABA F3 set with "1:48 Scale Proportion" for $529 [MTH 30-20801-1-F3]

Today MTH announced an O-Scale Santa Fe F3 A ($539 each) & B units ($239 each) with " 1:48 Scale Proportion" [MTH 20-21586-1 & 20-21586-3].  Thus the ABA combination would be about 2.5 times the cost of the Railking release.

What would be the physical and performance difference between the two?

Today MTH also announced [MTH 20-21587-1 & 20-21587-3] that look to me like the [MTH 20-21586-1 & 20-21586-3] units. What would be the difference?

The RailKing version is a physical copy of the Lionel postwar F3. That includes the squinty windows and the incorrect (except for only one real F3) combination of chicken wire and side grills.  The Rail King model and the Lionel model are scale length and width, but are not as tall as they should be. Like postwar models, they have very few added-on details.

The Premier model is scale sized and is loaded with added-on details.

Performance-wise. they should be similar as they have the same motors and control systems.
