I am putting a new smoke fan motor and impeller in my MTH Premier Triplex. The blades on the new impeller are curved in the opposite direction of the old one. Does this mean I have to wire the new motor to run counter clockwise or does it matter which way the impeller rotates?

Thanks,  Ken

You want it to rotate CW if it's a standard MTH smoke unit.  Also, the blades should rotate with the convex side pushing the air, that's done to reduce fan noise.  Some have them rotating the other way, and it can create more fan noise at higher speeds.

Note that the rotation is determined by looking down on the top of the fan.
