Maybe this will help you.
I understand that but the problem still exists. If you don't have at least 72" radius, forget it.
They run fine. The start-up sounds like a couple of jet aircraft (no surprise).
Four points to remember:
- O-72 and larger curves.
- Make sure the between-car connections are secure.
- Make sure you clip the "bars" in place before running.
- (If you count rivets) get a sufficient number of extra cars to match the prototype consist. The sets comes in an as-delivered three-unit consist. I feel sorry for the VIA guys as you need six extra cars to make the 9-unit trains. You only need two extras for Amtrak. Handling the thing is like carrying a large snake.
Mine was dead out of the box as well as having damaged to a couple of the clips and one bar was broken. I contacted MTH and was told they would send parts in about 6 months. This was almost 10 months ago....

That would be O72 diameter, a bit smaller.
We did a post on a 10 minute fix. This was so it would run on tight 0-72. Mike Wolf got involved and I did the articke on the forum for the owners. I am not a fan of the way it couples but it stays together.
I followed Marty's ten minute fix and my turbo runs better. May try to post a video soon. Even O72 curves remain tight so I have gone to O82 (still a tight turn but the largest RealTrax curvature). It was advised at that time that the models now being offered would contain the fix.
