MTH veranda turbine, will they fix the smoke problem?

I have the new MTH veranda turbine but it has one problem, the smoke does not come out of the grid like it should. MTH knows about the mistake they made but so far has done nothing about it.

So just the other day a friend invited me to see his HO layout. And wouldn't you know it he has the MTH veranda turbine in HO. Guess what, the smoke comes out where it is supposed to.

How could MTH screw up so bad on the O gauge version but get it right on the HO model?

Im not not holding out for MTH to fix this problem anytime soon but we shall see If they really care about their O gauge customers.
