I know, but they should have been in that Tinplate Parts book, they're probably one of the most common parts that fail. 

That is your opinion.  So let MW know.  I think the parts that would be tech installed are left off.  What I saw was all the folks that wanted detail parts to restore there original Pre War, or Complete motor assemblies to also use for restorations.

 

Changing out the gears is more elaborate and near complete disassembly.  So that would mostly be done by an ASC.  OR for the expert modelers they would know how to ask for the part.   G

I agree on the O-scale model where you have to press the gear off the shaft, and then the new one onto the shaft.  However, the STD gauge one is simple to change, the shaft and it's stop have screws that you simply remove and slide out the shaft, even a caveman could do it.
