The tower has not worked right, and looking at the motor connection, (see photos)  there is a red dot and neutral dot.

the red wire M+ goes to the neutral dot and the black wire M+ goes to the red dot.  Anyone seen this before?  Will the motor turn backwards?

The board shows M+ with the red wire connected.  M- has the black wire connected,

So one would think the red wire would go to the motor connection with the red dot and the black would go on the other.

Question - Did someone have this apart at one time?

You can also check the output either at the board or at the motor for 12 volts DC if nothing is working.  No voltage would be your board and voltage present would probably be a bad motor.  Make sure whatever is activating the Water Tower is on.  No voltage could also be whatever that device is.

The red dot is a typical convention for motor direction with positive on it, but when a motor needs to turn another direction they wire it opposite.  Smoke unit I have seen the dot put on backwards so I always test them to get proper rotation.  Motors in engines also need to be test or match the configuration.  G
