Product Locator is no longer working, unfortunately.

#1 Product locator was discontinued when they downsized and switched to BTO model, no more catalogs, no more warehouse at MTH.

#2 Product locator was a 2 part system where sure, MTH added the list of dealers that bought an item, however, the part 2 of this is dealers then had to be responsible for updating weekly if not daily when they sold something. The system was only good as long as the dealers updated.  When MTH closed the old office and moved, that old database system died with it. And let's be honest, it was on borrowed time in the IT world.

#3 Again, the new business model, no cataloged items, individual dealer runs, you already know the dealer who has that exclusive item. MTH is not on the hook for maintaining a listing of a dealer's accurate inventory.

The www.mthtrains.com web site seems to be working just fine and as far as I know, it has been right along.

We reported back in late March the MTH Product Locator has been repaired and back in full operation.  True, it is only as accurate as participating dealers keep it updated.  We update our product listings at least every one-two weeks.  We just updated it again today.

New MTH items are shipped out to MTH authorized dealers nearly every week.  Nothing has changed except there are no 200+ page paper catalogs being printed twice a year.  Many other major manufactures are not printing full product catalogs anymore.  Even Lionel and Wm K. Walthers are not printing full-line product catalogs every year anymore.

Very, very poor excuse.  You're not going to win any points with your argument.  (Let's follow the lemmings off the cliff.)

We also see the same logic with handheld remotes.

How many times have you heard this in your lifetime: "Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean it's the correct thing to do."

Consider it carefully.   It applies here.
