Can anyone tell me if the MTH Scale Wheel H9 2-8-0 can negotiate 36"r? The catalog radius numbers are notoriously unreliable. Does anyone own one that could give real world feedback?
As I recall, it could as it was a short-wheelbase, small-driver locomotive. I also believe the scale-wheeled USRA Light Mikados were rated for 36" radius. Hopefully, someone who actually has one in his hot little hands can chime in.
This information MAY be of some use: My MTH Scaled wheel H-10 goes around 36" radius.
Also, the operator's manual for the H9 with the tether quotes 31" radius. I would assume with the new wireless drawbar its the same. As you point out the catalogue numbers don't mean much. But the operators manual is generally accurate
