A recent video on Tommy Z channel has a MTH Big Boy and a Yellowstone lashed and pulling a 108 car train. They are both Proto One. After a success, he takes the Big Boy out of the equation and the Yellowstone does it alone. Unbelievable. The video stars off with a talk about Proto Sound one.

MTH and Lionel should hire Tommy Z for endurance and torture testing of their products! He has done some videos that really push the limits of the trains. He is one of my favorites to watch. He also has a really nice layout too. I also enjoy his comments.
I whole heartily agree that the Premier PS1 engines are built like tanks and that's carried forward with the PS2 and 3 engines. Having only one PS1 engine with its original electronics I didn't realize you could control them with the handheld like that. Live and learn.

Most of the early MTH PS1 engines were made in Korea by Samhongsa. I have my PS1 U.P. Challenger for twenty three years. Longer than the U.P. had them.........
I viewed the video by TommyZ the other week. One, I was glad to see him posting again. Next, what he does with those PS1 locomotives is amazing! He did mention certain differences compared with the newer PS2 or PS3 versions of the locomotives.
I agree with RTR12's comment about endurance testing... lol...
TommyZ makes a very good point, that the customer should get what they pay for(in initial purchase), and the proper customer support from the manufacture. We are supposed to enjoy them, not be frustrated by them (product and support).
