Multiple Cab 1 Remotes

When using more than one Cab 1 remote do I have to program the identical engine number separately into the engine with each remote or does the same engine number work from all remotes even though a particular remote may not have been used to program that engine.

Once the locomotive id# is programmed. The locomotive will respond to that number from any TMCC Cab1, Legacy Cab1L, or Legacy Cab2 handheld.
