New Jersey – During routine track maintenance and cleaning today, crews from the Passaic, Raritan, Neshaminy, Delaware and Lehigh Railroad discovered a body along the tracks near the back of the layout. Railroad police were initially called to the scene to investigate.
The victim, a male of average height and build, was still dressed in a suit and wearing a backpack. The victim’s face and right shoulder were apparently gnawed off, along with portions of his left hand, and the front of his legs and tops of his feet. The name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of sprue.
The body was found along an section of elevated track, although police said it was highly unlikely that the person jumped from or fell off a moving train. Investigators do not believe foul play was involved, but are focusing their attention on Rodents Of Unusual Size, which inhabit the unfinished basement in which the PRND&L is located. One railroad detective, who asked to remain anonymous, believed that the victim was probably waiting for a train at a nearby station, when he was carried off by the rodents. The PRND&L is served by several passenger lines.
